Nottingham girl Ronika writes, sings and produces music. Now based in Hackney, London UK the singer-songwriter (born Veronica Sampson) released her debut album Selectadisc in June.
Now she releases a smooth new track ‘Marathon’ – we had a listen:
The funky and bumptious bass eases you into this peachy piece.
The vocal trips lightly and is lush and juicy like cherry-pie.
This has a lot of faded charm – the voice is reminiscent of early Madonna - the musicianship reminds you of Nile Rogers. And the trans-Atlantic sound-production is – well – Princely.
Delicious funky soul brought to you with a good dose of buttercup voice and favourable rhythm, melody and mood.
