One Frog lived in a pond. The other lived in a gully along the highway. One frog was free. The other frog was trapped. One had plenty. The other had little. When a frog feels trapped. He jumps. But sometimes he jumps into the path of calamity … rather than from it. But that is a chance you take when you jump.
Now the band formerly known as the Bloogs (Chris, Stu and Gustavo) have jumped into a new incarnation – they have released a double A-side single titled The Room / Flora Town.
The band now call themselves Leapfrogtown.

The Room: Imagine the Assistant Store Manager at your local mobile phone shop has made a video.
He has managed to put together an elegant collection of ska musicians with their sparkling guitars, a great sax sound and some mature rat-a-battered drums – and he has also written a talkative chorus – and it’s quite addictive.
That’s what this song is like. Not admirable, certainly not innovative – but harmless enough in a weakly pleasant yet formulaic way.
We also get ‘Flora Town’ with bubbly acoustic guitar – and now the Assistant Store Manager sings sadly in addition to trying to avoid the oozing dark synths.
With those circulating spirals of ink that swirl menacingly around his head like sepia in water – this is freakishly pessimistic.
Have they jumped into the path of calamity or have the Bloogs freed themselves? Only time will tell.
